Powerhouse Sydney gallerist Roslyn Oxley has announced that her gallery, Roslyn Oxley9, is now representing world renowned Australian artist duo Claire Healy and Sean Cordeiro. Healy and Cordeiro were formerly represented by Barry Keldoulis who closed his gallery space at the end of 2012 to focus on pop-up shows and art fair participation.
The recent announcement that Keldoulis will take on the role of CEO and Group Fairs Director of Art Fairs Australia PtyLtd, the company behind Melbourne Art Fair and the new Sydney Contemporary art fair, presumably puts a temporary end to his art dealing activities – and his representation of Sean and Claire. Cue the announcement by Roslyn Oxley9.
A survey exhibition of Healy and Cordeiro’s work opened at the University of Queensland Art Museum on April 6. Organised by Sydney’s Museum of Contemporary Art, the exhibition is Healy and Cordeiro’s first museum survey. Demonstrating the depth and diversity of their practice, it comprises both monumental and intimate pieces in a variety of media including sculpture, installation and photography.
