In celebration of their 160th year in Australia, Swiss watch manufacturer Baume & Mercier has designed an exclusive limited-edition Classima watch that is only available in Australia.

One hundred and sixty years ago, driven by their motto “Accept only perfection; Only manufacture watches of the highest quality”, Louis-Victor and Joseph-Célestin Baume travelled more than 9,000 miles to bring their family-run Swiss luxury watchmaking business to Australia.

In 1880 the Baume Brothers won first prize and a gold medal at the Melbourne International Exhibition.  The award was a tribute to their pioneering values in luxury watchmaking – and to the role they had played in solidifying Australia's role as a center of commerce.

In conjunction with the launch of the Australian Classima watch, a retrospective exhibition of both vintage and current Baume & Mercier watches was held during September and October at six retailers from Sydney to Melbourne.

The Limited Edition Classima is available at selected Australian retailers. For more information visit the Baume & Mercier website.
