Limited Edition Hermès Scarf Celebrates Australian Fashion Icon
Over the last two weeks the Melbourne, Australia based boutique Le Louvre, the famed purveyor of designer women’s clothing, has played host to the very first Hermès pop-up store in Australia.
To celebrate the pop-up store and the 90th birthday of the boutique, a limited edition scarf has been created by Hermès paying homage to Lillian Wightman who founded Le Louvre Melbourne 90 years ago.
Designed by Bali Barret, the deputy artistic director of women’s collections at Hermes, the print was inspired by Wightman’s signature ocelot print.
The special edition silk twill scarf, called Monsieur et Madame Hermès, is available exclusively from the Le Louvre boutique Melbourne, Hermès Melbourne & Hermès.com Australia.
Miss Lillian Wightman opened Le Louvre in 1923 to cater to young Melbourne debutantes and society women wanting pretty party frocks.
A significant part of Le Louvre's 90-year history is the idea that fashion, art and design are one and that together they create a unique and wonderful experience.
The scarf can be purchased from Le Louvre here, or from Hermès here
