Pimped-out with an ipod dock, Bose sound system and a variety of bespoke compartments, the 140cm tall trunk, which weighs in at 100 kilograms, will be sold with cricket gear and memorabilia including a helmet worn by Clarke, balls, gloves, and four signed cricket bats.
Production of the trunk began at the Louis Vuitton Special Orders workshop in Asnières, France where Clarke met with master craftsman to finalise design details. Hand-made by just one artisan over a period of eight months, the trunk is expected to fetch a minimum of $170,000.
The finished product was revealed at a party attended by Clarke and his wife at Louis Vuitton’s Sydney Maison where it is currently on display. “I feel honoured to design this unique piece that embodies my respect for cricket,” Clarke commented.
The Cricket Trunk will be displayed at the Louis Vuitton George Street Maison in Sydney and will be sold by Christie’s auction house who will facilitate a private sale of the trunk.
