Chef Massimo Bottura features in a Panerai Film

Chef Massimo Bottura, a respectable figure in the culinary world, is seen in the last leg of the Panerai Traits project. He is the founder chef of Osteria Francescana restaurant based in Modena. The film shows Bottura preparing his crunchy lasagna wearing Panerai's Tuttonero Luminor 1950 3 Days GMT Automatic Ceramica. The film features four international personalities who according to Panerai embody the unique traits of the brand.

The new film by Panerai “Innovation” is shot in Albinelli market of Modena in Italy and various other places. The Piazza Grande and the restaurant Osteria Francescana are the other locations used for shooting. Bottura is believed to have experimented with tradition and come up with innovations. He loves to explore his roots when it comes to cooking.

“Innovation” is the last leg of the first series of Panerai Traits. All the four international talents that feature as protagonists carry the same passion as the Panerai. Just like the watch has to do with the sea, similarly the world free-diving champion Guillaume Nery loves sea and water; the purity of design of Panerai has been reportedly linked with Costas Voyatzis, who is the founder the Yatzer website. The search for perfect light is linked to the American photographer Jason M. Peterson.  

“Never trust a skinny Italian Chef. My name is Massimo Bottura. I am an Italian chef born in Modena. I grew up under the kitchen table at my grandmother Ancella’s knees. That is where appetite begins for me,” says the Osteria Francescana website introducing the Founder-Chef. “Inspiration comes from the world around me – from art, music, slow food and fast cars. Catch the flash in the dark because it only passes once. Expect the unexpected,” adds the website.

As per the website cooking is a call to act. “I have followed my passion for over thirty years to find my voice. The time has come to use it to make visible the invisible. Around the world, we waste one third of the food we produce. In 2016, I founded the non-profit association Food for Soul to empower communities to fight against food waste in the interest of social inclusion and individual wellbeing,” says the website.
