For its 2018 edition, the VOLTA14 has moved to a new location inaugurating the former COOP distribution center at Elsasserstrasse 215. This is adjacent to Novartis Campus, the Basel headquarters of the global healthcare company. This new venue is just a five-minute walk from Voltaplatz, site of the original VOLTA show. VOLTA14 is on view June 11-16, concurrent with Art Basel.

The fairs move to the COOP warehouse,  owned by the City of Basel. This marks the start of a neighborhood-wide rejuvenation plan. It will include a school and various creative startups and ateliers in the following year. With a space of 2,500 square meters, the exhibition hall at Elsasserstrasse 215 also boasts of industrial functionality. The fair brings together approximately 75 international galleries. VOLTA Basel brand names such as Meyers Culinarium, Aesop, and Volta Brau will also be part of the fair.

The art fair began in 2005 to provide a platform for international galleries. Since its inception, the concerns and aspirations of the exhibiting gallerists has been the top priority of VOLTA.
