The nautical themed Cruise 2018/19 Collection showcased by Chanel this month was set at Grand Palais in Paris and featured a massive replica ship.
Nicknamed the ‘La Pausa,’ the ship created in the Grand Palais formed the backdrop of the Cruise 2018/19 show. Arranged around the central nautical theme, 88 looks were presented to those who attended the show. Looks were inspired by sailor stripes, jackets with a double-breasted design and other elements of nautical uniforms that gave the offerings created by Karl Lagerfeld an effortlessly elegant vibe that is perfect for the summer.
Importantly, the designs conveyed an air of simplicity mixed with elegance and this was effortlessly showcased in trousers featuring stripes and also in berets. The color white also formed an important element in the show and it was used in stockings to summer dresses. Maritime prints in blue were also featured while shades of pink were also were used to appeal to the feminine silhouette.
Materials featured in the show ranged from silk chiffon, to tweeds, crepe de Chine and vinyl mixed with feathers, and these were used in everything, ranging from crop tops to mini-dresses and blazers. Accessories such as bags and sunglasses also followed the nautical theme and were fashioned after life-rings and Portholes.
Guests who attended the show included actresses Kristen Stewart, Margot Robbie and Lily Rose Depp who represented the Hollywood elite, and they watched the models walk down the quay running in the front of the ship.
