Need for Speed at MAMA Australia

“Speed: The Fast and the Curious” will be showcased at the Murray Art Museum Albury (MAMA) from August 20 through November 6.

The exhibition will feature a collection of artworks including newly-commissioned pieces by leading Australian artists, interactive installations, and works on loan from Sydney’s Museum of Contemporary Art and White Rabbit Gallery as well as private owners.

“The exhibition addresses the role of speed in the Australian psyche, and highlights the relationship with speed in Albury,” said MAMA curator Bianca Acimovic in a statement. “The fascination with speed is deeply embedded in the national consciousness, and going faster and breaking records to get an adrenalin rush is a primal urge,” she added.
